Survivors
A support group for those bereaved by suicide, led by Piers Young (right).

The group meets every other month on the first Friday. We share a meal and talk round about our experiences. Losing someone to suicide is an intensely difficult and traumatic thing to go through, and sharing it with others who understand can be greatly healing.
There are boundaries including confidentiality, and sensitivity to everyone's needs.

The group is open to all. Most members are Christians, but anyone is welcome to come along.

Use the form below to contact us, or ring Piers at the Centre on 024 7655 0033.

 Jo’s Story

Jo, a Christian, helps to run a support group for those bereaved by suicide.

“Following the death of my husband, who committed suicide, I found it very

difficult to talk with people about how I felt. Suicide is so shocking and violent and carries with it a stigma for those who survive. Being part of a group of people who have had similar experiences has helped me to understand many of the confused feelings I had and still have. My life has moved on enormously, but the scar of suicide is still with me. I call it a half-stitched scar and talking helps me to continue to move my life forward.”

This list is for anyone that has lost someone to Suicide, considering Suicide, or has tried Suicide. It is also for any one with religious, philosophical, theological, psychological, or any other view on suicide. Where do people that commit suicide go? Is it caused by a mental illness? This group is an anti-suicide group to provide support for any and all of the above. Any suicide info is welcome as long as it does not encourage suicide. All ages welcome.
